To Whom It May Concern:
I am a daughter who has taken care of mom at home for the past five years. When the disease progressed we found Lemont Nursing Center. I am that daughter that visits everyday after work and waits until she is in bed to leave. I am there every weekend for the day. Words cannot express how grateful I am for my “new family”.
When COVID-19 hit, Lemont was pro-active in their protocols of not allowing in visitors before any mandate was sent in place.
If your looking for humans beings who have integrity, compassion, and morals you will find it here on the second floor dementia unit. From the receptionist, house keepers, Activity Aides, CNA’s and the nurses all that I have encountered put my mom’s care above their own. A total stranger to them, I have watched how they care and protect my mom. From shaking her juice at meal times to putting her earrings on and always making her look beautiful. There is always music and laughter in the dinning hall. Activities for mom, a nice little courtyard.
When my heart is breaking and I can’t stop crying because I cannot be next to mom, in person, the only thing that helps is knowing my “new family” has love in their hearts and mom is safe, happy and protected.
Regards,
Dee
